Commentary
Got your Geek on? You're going to need it. I made Xor the Half-Adder just one day after Dual Blades was released to the live servers. How more to celebrate such an occasion than a double entendre? Not just any double entendre. Not even a risqué double entendre. But one that only a very specific type of Geek would get. In all the time I played him, only one person seemed to understand. Now that you know there is meant to be a jest here, do you get it?
I'm guessing not. (Mega-congratulations if you do!) Here's the deal, revealed for the very first time:
Xor is one spelling of an assembly language opcode for the "exclusive or" logical operation. (The other spelling is Eor.) Since my character is a cyborg, that sort of follows. An adder is a venomous snake, and indeed my cyborg was built from a snake's body – half snake, half machine. "Ok", you are thinking, "I still don't get it." Back to the xor logical operation. It is also a binary arithmetic operation, a half adder. Adder math. Adder snake. Double entendre.
You have just been Geeked. Feel free to come back after you shower. (I won't bother explaining contrapositive; you have already been Geeked enough.)
Neither of my pictures show his thick snaky tail, which was the most natural part left after they got done modifying the adder. I've never been quite sure why they wanted to build a snake cyborg, but he turned out to be a very effective fighter.
