Unofficial Retirement Plan Page for
Titan Systems, DBA

This page was researched and built on my own time.  Neither DBA Systems nor Titan is responsible for the information herein.  To the best of my knowledge and ability it is accurate and available from public sources.  Any mistakes are purely my own, so, beware, I may have been drunk, hallucinatory, hubristic, or lying through my teeth (no, wait, that was last night!).  Opinions are given in a slightly smaller font -- think of them as whispers.

The following tables display information concerning the funds available to DBA (and most Titan Employees).  The final fund menu is quite large (19 choices).  One way to cope with this many choices is to adopt an investment style.

Style 1:  don't bother me, just try to make me money!
Choose one of the "lifestyle" funds.  These are balanced funds, with a bit of conservatism built in.  Depending on which fund you choose, there is a different ratio of fixed-income versus equity (stocks).  Three of these funds make up TRP's "Personal Strategy" suite.  The fourth, Spectrum Growth Fund, is conservative in that it is a fund made up of other mutual funds.

    Style 2:  index it!
Choose one or both of the index funds.  The Equity Index Fund tries to track the performance of the S&P 500, which are the largest public companies in the USA.  The Extended Equity Market Index Fund tries to track the performance of the Wilshire 4500.  These are small to mid-cap US companies which are not included in the S&P 500.  By choosing both, your investment follows a "total market" approach for US funds.

Style 3:  I'll do it myself, thank you!
Choose what seems good to you.  You do your own research, have your own ideas, and now have 19 funds to implement your own strategy.
